A fascinator is often worn instead of a hat and can be large or small with a decorative design. 

Traditional hand made fascinators usually have an elastic attachment which allows them to be comfortable to wear and easy to arrange in the nicest position.  

In contrast to a hat, a fascinator is purely ornamental but can complete an outfit superbly!
